Sharing a puzzle on 48 Pieces signifies agreement to the following:

Purpose & Usage

• 48 Pieces provides online hosting of puzzles to facilitate backup and later retrieval, providing created puzzles for play by other players and for game record-keeping purposes. Use of sharing functionality for any other purpose is prohibited.
• Puzzle sharing is entirely optional and 48 Pieces can be used without this feature. Players are not compelled to share puzzles or puzzle images.
• Shared puzzles are publicly accessible both within the 48 Pieces software and on the web and will be associated with your account. Images or other content intended to be kept private should not be shared.

Prohibited Content

The following subject matter is prohibited in uploaded puzzle images:

• Images portraying pornographic or explicit sexual content.
• Images portraying explicit violence and/or cruelty toward people or animals.
• Images containing hateful speech directed at other persons or groups on the basis of their race, sex, gender, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnicity or ability. We endeavor to ensure 48 Pieces is an inclusive, positive experience for all.
• Images that engage in or perpetuate targeted abuse and/or harassment against others.
• Images that are already displayed in another shared puzzle.

Intellectual Property

By sharing a puzzle image on 48 Pieces, you warrant the following:

• You hold the copyright to the uploaded puzzle image, have received permission to share it from the copyright holder, or it is in the public domain.
• You are publishing the uploaded puzzle image on your own volition, and acknowledge that 48 Pieces is an online service provider providing you with hosting of said content and does not have actual knowledge that it is hosting infringing material and is not aware of facts or circumstances from which infringing activity is apparent.
• You give Jeff Campbell and Tapestry a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use and redistribute the uploaded puzzle image within 48 Pieces and 48 Pieces-related software, games, apps, web site(s), videos, print media and marketing materials.
• The uploaded puzzle image does not infringe upon the copyright, trademark, publicity rights or other rights of any person or entity.

Lawful Use

• Shared content must comply with all applicable national, state and local laws. If notified of illegal content, we will cooperate with law enforcement to the fullest extent possible.

Removal

• We may, at our option, remove any uploaded images or other content that violates any clause of this policy.
• Repeated violations of this policy may result in a loss of sharing privileges, an inability to use some 48 Pieces features and—in some instances—permanent removal from 48 Pieces. Please be nice.

Updates

• This policy may change from time to time without prior notice. You may view the most recent version from within the 48 Pieces software.
